Which disease is also known as erythema infectiosum?

Erythema infectiosum is commonly known as Fifth Disease. This condition is caused by the parvovirus B19 and is most prevalent in children. It typically presents with a characteristic "slapped cheek" rash, followed by a lacy, reticular rash on the body. The disease usually has an incubation period of four to 14 days and is often accompanied by mild symptoms such as fever and headache.

While the other diseases mentioned have distinct characteristics and causative agents, they do not share the alias of erythema infectiosum. Sixth Disease, for example, refers to roseola infantum, primarily caused by human herpesvirus 6, characterized by high fever followed by a rash. Measles is caused by the measles virus and presents with a typical rash and respiratory symptoms, whereas roseola is specifically associated with younger children and has a different rash progression.
